EMPAC performance review
I went to one of the short performances at EMPAC. The performance was 4 different style short performances which lasted about 90 minutes. The first segment and the second were better than the other two in my opinion. The first segment was two dancers moving around to music/noise while lighting and projection changed casting shadows on screens that were lowered down from the ceiling. It seemed like they were using isadora for the lights, but it may have been controlled by hand as well. In the second segment, there was a section where all the lights and sound were off and a small green light was lowered to the center of the stage very slowly. The effect of that small single light and absolute darkness/silence was very powerful.
